Rachael Bailey is the organiser of the upcoming Miss Transgender United Pageant. It recently come under fire from a number of transgender people as old fashioned and objectifying transgender people. Tonight Rachael defends her project and answers questions posed by the community.

Once you agree to enter MTUK restricts the use of the name Miss Transgender UK to in house PR and all related PR must be authorised.
Applications are submitted online by visiting the application page located here.
An application fee of £25 will need to be paid in full once you submit your application sponsorship available just ask.
The application fee covers administrative costs and secures the candidate’s entry and is NON-refundable. There are no other fees for entry into the pageant.
You will need to supply two photos at sign up. A face photo and full body picture in evening wear should be sent via e-mail OR uploaded during the online application form process.
Overseas applicants are welcome! Please be aware that if you are applying from outside the United Kingdom please note that MTUK will not responsible for visa requirements or applicant expenses.
All applicants will receive an e-mail confirming their entry.
There will be a maximum total of 700 candidates in total with 100 from each of the 6 citys being represented.
To enter you must be a male to female transgender person
Failure to disclose accurate information or the inclusion of deliberately misleading information with your entry will result in disqualification.
Both pre-operation and post-operation applicants will be accepted.
Entries received after the closing date will not be accepted unless there are insufficient applicants in your area.
You must be over 18 years of age to apply.
International applications from outside the United Kingdom are welcomed.
The entry fee of £25 must be paid on acceptance of all applications or you will not be entered.
There will be three rounds consisting of the following events:
3 Random questions
Clubbing wear or your own fabulous creation
Peoples favourite award
The London final will consist of 20 finalists who will be chosen to compete against each other for the Miss Transgender united 2015 crown.
What costumes are required?
Contestants will need to wear one costume for each round:
Casual Wear for your random questions
clubbing wear or your own fabulous creation
Choosing the winners
The finalists and the winner of Miss Transgender United will be chosen by a panel of judges
For a £1 donation to our chosen charity, guests will be able to vote for their favourite contestant on the night to win entrance to the MTUK Final
The chosen charities will change with each event keeping money in the areas were it was raised.
The same will apply in the final event there will be a peoples award for there favourite we are calling this “The Alcorns Award ”

The Judges rules :
All judges must adhere to the following rules when judging applicants as follows :
50% of points are based on 3 random questions :
1st is based on your home life
2nd is based on your education
3rd is based on your ability to communicate a positive message to the uk about transgender
The other 50% is judged on you appearance and performance on the night

Makeover Girl Re-Invent Yourself Package
which is a full days makeover experience including photographs. The
day includes a facial with full make up, HD Brows, hair styling and
image consultation. It also includes unlimited photographs. Lunch is
also included in the package.
£500 will be awarded to the 3rd place contestant.
An over night stay for 2 at Gulliervers Hotel Brighton with dinner and breakfast.
The winner and runners-up will also receive a sash, bouquet of flowers and other prizes.
